Time: Sunday, April 19th, from 2:00-3:30 pm
Location: Bemis Public Library, 6014 South Datura Street, Littleton
What is the power of unions in strengthening the middle class and the fight against Trump and authoritarianism? How is Trump attacking workers' rights, and how can we strengthen them here in Colorado?
Lauren Martens of the Colorado AFL-CIO will explain the potential benefits of the proposed Workers Protection Act to undo Colorado's antiquated 1943 "right-to-work" law. The Colorado Legislature passed the WPA last year, but Governor Polis vetoed it.
Miles Batson of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) will speak to the devastating impact of Trump administration policies on federal workers. He'll talk with us about the Protect America's Workers Act to nullify a Trump executive order that stripped government workers of their union rights and to restore collective bargaining rights to over 1 million federal employees.
